Last seen finishing an unlucky fourth in the $1million Magic Millions National 2YO Classic in May, speedy I Am Invincible filly Sisstainable returned from a spell at Moonee Valley on Friday night to score a tenacious win.

The Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained filly was the only ride of the night for Blake Shinn, who was well rewarded when she zoomed to the line to take the 1000m Benchmark 70 contest by half a length.
Sisstainable was a $450,000 Magic Millions purchase for McEvoy Mitchell Racing/Belmont Bloodstock Agency from the Widden Stud draft and is the first foal from Group III winning Zoustar mare Sisstar, a full sister to Champion 3YO Filly Sunlight and Group III winning filly Clean Energy.

The McEvoy stable prepared both Sunlight and Sisstar, so it was never surprising to see Sisstainable also join their team and she runs for an ownership group that includes Frank and Christine Cook’s Mystery Downs in whose colours she runs..
“She's the same size as her mum. She's a little pocket rocket of a thing, but she's very tenacious, and her form is really good,” said Tony McEvoy.
“She's placed in a stakes race and she was very unlucky not to win a million-dollar race up on the Gold Coast as she just missed the start from an inside gate.
“What she lacks in size, she makes up for in being tenacious.
“It was lovely to have Blake (Shinn) on her, and he'd had a sit on her here at Moonee Valley during the week, and he said ‘she's a rocket’… and she was a rocket for him tonight.”
Stakes-placed Sisstainable has two wins from six starts with earnings topping $170,000 and is the only foal from Sisstar, who had a troubled record at stud and sadly passed away earlier this year.
