Coolmore Favs get the Flemington Straight Experience in Jump Outs

Craig Tompson - Friday October 24

Beiwacht, Beadman and Skyhook, three of the top four in the market for next month’s Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes had a jump out down the Flemington straight on Friday with Beadman quite the eye-catcher.

Golden Rose winner Beiwacht had his first look at the Flemington straight on Friday

The heat also included another three-year-old in Magic Millions placegetter, Gallo Nero along with four-year-olds Bosustow and Balastier.

Balastier showed brilliant speed early and won the jump out however the performance of Beadman would certainly suggest he’s come on since his last start second in the Roman Consul Stakes to Hidden Motive.

The Roman Consul is the lead up race that has provided the last two winners of the Coolmore in Switzerland and Ozzmosis.

Both Beiwacht and Skyhook were not asked for any serious effort but the box is now ticked as far as having a look at the Flemington straight, often problematic for Sydney based horses.

Ironically Beadman's namesake, Darren Beadman, who has worked with Beiwacht through his racing career with both James Cummings and Chris Waller, was a guest on the Tara Talks Racing podcast a few weeks ago and said he felt Beiwacht could be an even better horse down the Flemington straight given some of his racing mannerisms. Have a listen here.

Two other Coolmore hopefuls in Hidden Motive and Point Barrow also had a jump out in the next heat, with Hidden Motive winning, and saw a couple of nice efforts from fillies in Vein Girl and Cantiamo.

Cantiamo in particular still looks to have more to offer having impressed in two lower grade wins so far this campaign.
