A lone 2YO went around in an 800m trial for two and three year-olds at Hawkesbury on Tuesday and the Snitzel colt won in good style carrying the Mulberry Racing colours.
Trained by Brad Widdup and ridden Andrew Adkins, Tenebaum looked very professional jumping well to travel smoothly behind the leaders and when asked to take a gap up the fence he strode through under a hold and won by a head.
Tenenbaum was a $750,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Mulberry Racing from Arrowfield Stud and has a pedigree that suggests further will suit him even better given he is a full brother to Hong Kong Derby winner Cap Ferrat, who was also second in the Group I ATC Spring Champion Stakes.
His dam C’Est Beau La Vie was a stakes-winner at a mile and her dam Valkyrie Diva won the Group III MVRC Tesio Stakes at a mile and is a half-sister to triple Melbourne Cup winner and two time Australian Horse of the Year Makybe Diva.
Tenenbaum was one of four yearlings purchased from Inglis Easter by Mulberry Racing, who also signed for seven from Magic Millions.
