Not This Time 2026 Fee Surges to US$250,000

Tara Madgwick - Thursday October 16

When Widden Stud announced they would be shuttling Group I winning sprinter Cogburn (USA) to Australia this spring there were many Australian breeders who had to start doing some homework on his sire Not This Time.

Cogburn (USA) is working through his first book of mares at Widden Stud this spring, click for more info.

A horse likened to our own champion sire I Am Invincible in having started his stud career from a modest base, Not This Time has been busy this year both on the racetrack and in the sale ring with Taylor Made Stallions giving the exciting young sire a fee increase for 2026.

His fee rises to US$250,000, up from US$175,000 this year.

Not This Time is the leading North American sire this year by stakes-winners with 22 including G1 winners Rhetorical and Troubleshooting, and is the second-leading general sire with more than $19 million in progeny earnings.

He is leading the sire standings with his two-year-olds in every key category with 27 juvenile winners including five stakes-winners and is third-leading sire of three-year-olds as well — with crops bred on US$40,000 and US$45,000 stud fees, respectively.

In the ring this year, Not This Time was the leading sire by number of seven-figure yearlings at Keeneland September Yearling Sale, with his top yearling selling for US$2 million and he has sired 17 million-dollar yearlings so far this year in total — from a crop bred off his first six-figure stud fee.

Cogburn impressed breeders at the Widden parades at the start of spring and breeders that have taken up his services will no doubt be pleased to note the burgeoning success of his sire Not This Time.

Cogburn stands at a fee of $27,500.
