New Stakes Winner for Myboycharlie

Mark Smith - Sunday May 13

The win of Siren's Fury in Saturday's Group III Coolmore Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) at Scone gave us another reminder how versatile and vastly underrated Myboycharlie (FR) is.

In recent times Sir Charles Road won the Group II Chairman's Handicap and finished third in the Group 1 Sydney Cup at Randwick, and Sistercharlie won the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland, and just last week Sheezdashing finishing a close second in the Group 1 SAJC, Australasian Oaks and surely the deeds of Jameka, Euro Charline, Peggy Jean and Charlie Boy are still fresh in peoples minds.

Placed twice in Listed events last season at three, Siren's Fury advanced her record to 5 wins, 1 second and 4 thirds from 18 starts with earnings of $373,775.

"She paraded very well today and probably raced like a better horse as well," Coyle said

"This was her grand final but what we do from here I don't know. We will take her home and see if she pulls up well and obviously, Queensland is in the running now and we will have to have a look at it."

Obviously, the stable holds the 4yo daughter of Myboycharlie in high regard as she holds entries to the Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup and Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap.

Bred by Torryburn Stud, Siren's Fury is the best of four winners from six to race out of the Sydney winning Unbridled's Song mare De Chorus.

Torryburn Stud will consign a yearling colt by Your Song out of De Chorus to the upcoming Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.

De Chorus has an unraced 2yo Smart Missile filly named The Soloist and a weanling filly by The Factor (USA).

She was covered by the Golden Slipper winner Capitalist last spring.

Siren's Fury becomes the 16th stakes-winner for Myboycharlie (FR).

The Group 1 winning son of Danetime shuttled to Bowness Stud last spring where he covered 57 mares at a fee of $8,800.
