Briasa Boost as More Youngsters Impress on HIT Sale Eve

Media Release - Tuesday October 7

The timing couldn’t be better for a sale page's pedigree boost, with Briasa announcing himself as one of Australia’s most exciting sprinters following his dominant victory in Saturday’s $1 million Group Two Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

The Team Hawkes-trained son of Smart Missile took control late in the race under Tyler Schiller, stopping the clock in a slick 1:07.98 and confirming his place among the leading contenders for The Everest.

His win also shines the spotlight on his younger half brother, Lot 186 in the upcoming Magic Millions Gold Coast Horses In Training Sale.

Catalogued as a three-year-old gelding by Sensei out of Mary's Grace, breezed smartly in 10.51 seconds, showing the same early dash that has become Briasa's trademark.

The 3YO half-brother to Briasa is Lot 186.

Bred and prepared in Queensland, he is QTIS fully paid, offering an enticing opportunity for buyers seeking both pedigree strength and performance potential.

The sale catalogue also features plenty of buzz around young sires, none more so than Stay Inside, whose first runners are already making headlines. His son Incognito gave the Golden Slipper winner a dream start at stud with victory in Saturday’s Group Three Breeders' Plate (1000m) at Randwick.

There are two Stay Inside lots catalogued for the Magic Millions HIT Sale, including Lot 101 offered by Kenmore Lodge, is a colt out of Zing — a stakes performed daughter of Zoustar and sister to stakes winner Crafty Irna, the dam of Group Three winner Snickerdoodledandy.

Among other lots sired by the likes of I Am Invincible, Zoustar, Snitzel, Toronado, The Autumn Sun, Wootton Bassett, Capitalist to name a few.

With Briasa’s performance adding fresh black-type sparkle to the Mary's Grace pedigree, and Stay Inside making an immediate impact in the stallion ranks, buyers at the upcoming Horses In Training Sale will have plenty of reasons to take notice.

Meanwhile, the final breeze up session leading into Thursday's auction was held today at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

A number of classy performances were witnessed with horses running into a slight head wind under sunny skies.

A filly by Russian Revolution (Lot 87) was the quickest 200 metre breeze of the day on the Polytrack clocking 10.44 seconds. The filly is the latest two-year-old from the 100 per cent winner producer Upgrading (Encosta de Lago) and is a half sister to stakes galloper Improvement.

Baramul Stud's I Am Invincible colt from Ballet de Joie (Lot 113) skipped over the inside grass in 10.52 seconds. He is the first foal of his dam, a sister to Russian Revolution and half sister to Turbo Miss and the dam of Home Affairs and Aysar.

The Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale will be held on the Gold Coast this Thursday, October 9, with breeze-up videos and TripleS track data available via the Magic Millions online catalogue.
