First Stakes Win for In Good Time

Mark Smith - Saturday May 12

Promising filly In Good Time shares several traits with the outstanding sprinter In Her Time that extends well beyond the fact they are both daughters of Time Thief.

Both have a fierce will to win and while Group 1 winner In Her Time put in a rare sub-par performance in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000, In Good Time kept her record at a perfect six for six when earning her first stakes success in Saturday's Listed Emirates Park Denise's Joy Stakes (1100m) at Scone.

"She's very good, I tell everyone she's our Winx," Bartley enthused.

"We've travelled her everywhere but placed her beautifully and to reach that level in her first step is outstanding."

Like the champion sprinter Brazen Beau, In Good Time was bred by former trainer Bernie Howlett.

"Bernie Howlett bred this filly, got her out of the paddock and sent us a photo, we bought her for $10,000 and the rest is history," Bartley said.

"I think we will set her for the spring so it's onwards and upwards."

In Her Time is the best of three winners from as many to race out of the winning Strategic mare turbo Rose who hails from the family of outstanding stallion Centaine.

Fernrigg Farm will consign a three-parts brother to In Good Time by the Redoute's Choice stallion Fast 'N' Famous at the upcoming Scone Yearling Sale as Lot 137 and he is pictured below.

Turbo Rose has a weanling filly by Outreach and was covered by Odyssey Moon last spring.

In Good Time becomes the fifth stakes winner for Time Thief who now stands in South Africa.
