Tara Madgwick - Friday October 3

Three stakes races for new season juveniles add plenty of interest to a stellar day of racing this Saturday in Sydney and Melbourne, so let’s take a look at the Sale Mail for these races.

The Group III ATC Breeders Plate (1000m) gets the ball rolling with a field of nine that includes four heat winners from the official trials at Randwick last month.

The Waterhouse Bott stable have a big role to play here sending out the two favourites Eviction Notice and I’m Ya Huckleberry, who are by first season sires Stay Inside and Home Affairs.

Eviction Notice showed scintillating gate speed in his trial and it’s hard not to see him leading from gate 6, but I’m Ya Huckleberry was super strong late at the finish of his, so expect a good contest.

$1million Stay Inside colt Incognito the most expensive runner.

The Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) for the fillies has a field of 12 and the Waterhouse Bott stable again looks to have a strong hand saddling the race favourite Shiki, a daughter of Too Darn Hot (GB).

She was the quickest of all the official trial winners and the two filles that chased her home are also engaged in Better Off Alone and The Wildling, who is by first season sire Wild Ruler.

Home Affairs will also have a runner in heat winner Home Invasion, who has drawn the coveted gate one.

The Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial (1000m) has attracted a field 12 and we have only jump outs to go for all of them bar the Waterhouse Bott runner Knightsbridge, who looked pretty smart in his trial win at Randwick last month.

A $750,000 Magic Millions purchase, he is the most expensive runner and also the most expensive yearling purchase from the second crop of Golden Slipper winner Farnan, so prepare to be impressed when he walks in the yard.

First season sires Home Affairs and Extreme Warrior have a runner each in Guest House and Given the Extreme.
