Breednet Follow the Official Sydney 2YO Trials - 4-6

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 22

All 2YO heats this morning run at Randwick over 850m with these trials the key factor in deciding fields for the Group III ATC Breeders Plate and Gimcrack Stakes in two weeks time.

Heat 6 Fillies Masvingo (Zoustar) – 50.23 seconds

Trained by Bjorn Baker and ridden by Jason Collett, Zoustar filly Masvingo was quite green , but knuckled down well at the finish to win well.

Masvingo was a $580,000 MM purchase.

A $580,000 Magic Millions purchase from Silverdale Farm for Ridgmont Fillies Partnership/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd, Masvingo is the second foal of Group III placed Rotator, a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Positive Peace from stakes-winner Warpath.

Heat 5 Colts – Knightsbridge (Farnan) - 50.22 seconds

Nothing between the two Waterhouse Bott colts Knightsbridge (Farnan) and Our Emperor (Stay Inside), who went to the line locked together. Our Emperor led with Knightsbridge chiming in to score narrowly.

A $750,000 Magic Millions purchase from Lime Country Thoroughbreds for James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership/Tony Fung Colts, Knightsbridge is the highest priced of all Farnan yearlings sold in 2025.

Knightsbridge was a $750,000 MM purchase.

Knightsbridge is a half-brother to Group III winner Semana and stakes-winner Gala Queen being the fourth foal of a very smart lightly raced metro winning Nicconi mare called Festivity, who ran unplaced in the Gimcrack Stakes on debut after placing at these early trials back in 2013.

Festivity is one of those mares that has gone to stud with  no Black Type, but probably was that class with her overall record three wins (all Sydney metro) and two seconds from six starts with her only unplaced run the Gimcrack.

Heat 4 Fillies Oh Yes She Did (Yes Yes Yes) – 50.50 seconds

Trained by Mitchell and Desiree Kearney, Oh Yes She Did found the line well coming from off the pace to win for Tyler Schiller.

Oh Yes She Did was a $240,000 Inglis Classic yearling purchase.

A $240,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Kearney Racing / D Springfield from the Tyreel Stud draft, Oh Yes She Did is a full sister to stakes-placed Maili and half-sister to stakes-winner Kalino being the fifth foal from the good producer Lanikai.

A great type, Oh Yes She Did is the highest priced yearling sold in 2025 by Yes Yes Yes, who is now at Gooree Park Stud.
