Oscietra draws barrier four at Geelong

The first foal of unbeaten champion Black Caviar is set for her second race start at Geelong.

Three-year-old filly Oscietra has drawn barrier four in Friday's race on the synthetic track.

The Lindsay Park-trained filly will be ridden by Regan Bayliss in the 1000m maiden, the third race on the program.

By Exceed And Excel, Oscietra finished third behind Limestone and Miss Wahoo at her debut over 1000m at Flemington in January after which she was spelled.

Last month Oscietra was taken to Geelong where she won an unofficial jump-out on the synthetic surface and last week she won an 800m jump-out at Flemington.

Senior Lindsay Park trainer David Hayes said the filly had done everything right since.

"She worked well on Tuesday morning and importantly has been eating well since the jump-out," Hayes said.

"She's matured and thickened and we're really looking forward to Friday."

Hayes believes Oscietra is capable of winning black-type races during the spring and is not concerned taking her to Geelong as the stable has used synthetic surfaces previously with some of their better class gallopers.

Smart sprinter Keen Array won twice before progressing to better company while Miss Finland's daughter Stay With Me won her maiden on the synthetic track at Pakenham before going on to win the Group One Thousand Guineas at Caulfield three starts later.
