Iconoclasm Causing Chaos with Back to Back Flemington Wins

Media Release - Sunday May 6

In case you were wondering, the state of belief or behaviour that is different to most and a little chaotic is the state of iconoclasm - And the horse with the same name might just be that after showing rare talent his past two starts to win at Victoria's headquarters.

Toorak ToffThe handsome colt son of Toorak Toff is showing talent better than most and the Darren Weir charge looks to have earned his spot for a trip to Queensland with the G2 Queensland Guineas the obvious target.

"He's a belter of a sort and tough as teak. The Toff has had a great month or so and had 3 winners on Saturday across the country. He's really coming into his own the older they get," said Iconoclasm managing owner and Rosemont principal Anthony Mithen.

Home to Toorak Toff, as well as in form Starcraft and young stallion Nostradamus, Rosemont has enjoyed a tremendous month on the track apart from the very talented Iconoclasm The stud colours won the rich 2yo VOBIS Sires with homebred Thrillster as well as the VRC St Ledger with Runaway.

"It's been a great few weeks but I have to say I'm tremendously proud of Iconoclasm. We don't keep too many colts but we just loved him as a sort and wanted to race a few of these Toffs ourselves. It looks as though our judgement could be right. Weiry has said for a while he's a Group horse," Mithen said.

"We are going to stand Toorak Toff privately this year and understand the commercial market needs a few Iconoclasms to make a stallion work, but we definitely think he has plenty to offer for the breed-to-race crew. We'll be racing more going forward for sure. They win races and look to be tough. We will be tailoring deals to suit budgets for price sensitive breeders."

Mithen said he had received plenty of interest from Hong Kong for Iconoclasm but no offer has tempted a sale yet.

"A bit like Starcraft who is doing a super job in HK, Toorak Toff has had two winners from just three starters and looks to be building a profile up there."
