Five Lots Announced for Tattersalls Online Barrier Trials Pop-Up Sale

Media Release - Tuesday September 2

Tattersalls Online, Europe’s leading online thoroughbred sales platform, will break new ground when offering for auction five lots who took part in the ITM Irish EBF Barrier Trials at Leopardstown Racecourse earlier this week. The sale which takes place on 3rd – 4th September can be viewed on the Tattersalls Online website www.tattersallsonline.com.

Already a rich and reliable source of winning graduates, the ITM barrier trials, with the assistance of the Irish EBF and IHRB, provide unraced horses with invaluable racecourse experience whilst showcasing them to the global market.

Noelan Star is a 2YO son of Starspangledbanner.

Kildare-based trainer Diego Dias will consign three lots on behalf of Star Bloodstock including impressive six-furlong trial winner NOELAN STAR. A son of global sire sensation STARSPANGLEDBANNER and a 45,000 guineas graduate of last year’s Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale, the two-year-old colt displayed a professional attitude to grab the early lead and quickened well at the top of the straight to win by half a length.

Another classy trial winner from the Dias stable is two-year-old gelding KENOUGH. The son of KENDARGENT looked very professional when making the early running and showed a dominant turn of foot at the top of the straight to draw over two lengths clear by the winning line from some well-touted rivals. Boasting a pedigree which matches his impressive trial performance, KENOUGH is a half-brother to French Listed winner and Group 2 placed STRASSIA and is also a full brother to two-year-old Listed winner STRAKO.

GIRL BEAR is another notable entry who put in a remarkable performance to finish second in the first trial of the day over six furlongs for trainer Jack Foley. The two-year-old daughter of KODI BEAR gained a handy early position upsides the leader with the pair drawing clear in the straight with the talented filly closing the deficit towards the line to finish just half a length behind the eventual winner.

Dropped into mid-division early on, the two-year-old daughter of SUPREMACY travelled strongly throughout the race and was switched wide turning into the straight before making good headway to finish an eye-catching fourth place. A half-sister to maiden winner LENNOX, SAGASTI is out of a winning half-sister to the dam of Group 2 winner WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE.

Completing the catalogue is two-year-old filly CHRONATA who the settled in mid-division early in the first trial of the day. The daughter of proven Group 1 sire ARDAD showed a brave attitude to challenge between rivals before finishing in sixth in the competitive six-furlong contest.
