Manhattan Rain filly Let Me Sleep On It had race fitness and experience on her side coning into this 1200 metre contest and produced a career best performance to win.
Placed second at three of her previous five starts, she enjoyed a smooth run in transit for Steve Baster and dashed clear to win by more than two lengths.
Baster, Waterhouse and Bott are in good form having won the Listed VRC St Leger last Wednesday with another Manhattan Rain in Runaway.
"I work well with Roger Elliott, who is in charge of the stable down here and with Adrian joining Gai it has allowed her to concentrate more on the horses," said Baster, who revealed Let Me Sleep On It could easily have been in the paddock rather than at Caulfield.

"Gai was deciding whether to put her in the paddock or race, so she made the right choice."
A $60,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainers from the Turangga Farm draft, Let Me Sleep On It has won nearly $115,000 in prizemoney.
Bred and sold by Turangga Farm she is the first foal of Cheyenne Sue, a half-sister by Zizou to Group I winner Headway.
Cheyenne Sue was sold at the Turangga Farm Dispersal Sale last year for $85,000 and is now with Rheinwood Pastoral and produced a colt for them last spring by All Too Hard.
Let Me Sleep On It is the 12th stakes-winner for Manhattan Rain, who stands at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria this spring at a fee of $19,250.
