Widden Stud’s young gun Anders added a seventh first crop winner to his tally on Wednesday with a debut victory at Doomben for handsome chestnut gelding Anders’ Style.
Stamped very much in the image of his sire Anders, the powerhouse chestnut has been given a good grounding at the trials by his trainer Peter Robl. He followed up on trial wins at Beaudesert and the Gold Coast to keep his winning run going on race day when it counts!
He ran the 1200m out strongly to storm past the race favourite Quickzou, a Tony Gollan trained first starter by Zoustar.
Anders’ Style runs for Upper Bloodstock and was dominant at the finish pulling away for Jag Guthmann-Chester after a tussle to win by nearly two lengths.
Anders’ Style was a $60,000 Magic Millions Weanling purchase from Riversdale for Paul Willetts Bloodstock and then made $80,000 when re-offered by Goodwood Farm at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale Book 2 and bought by Rory Willock.
Anders’ Style is a half-brother to Group III placed Amica and is the seventh winner from eight foals to race from stakes-winning Shamardal (USA) mare Femina Fashion, who is now retired from stud duties.
Anders’ Style is the seventh winner for Anders, who stands at Widden NSW at a fee of $13,200.
