Second Winner For Hanseatic’s Tiz Worthy

Dane Squance - Wednesday July 23

Having the honour of becoming the first winner for the Rosemont Stud-based Hanseatic when recording victory back in December, Tiz Worthy’s win on the Sandown Hillside course on Wednesday saw the filly become the first dual winner for her sire.

Third on debut before breaking her maiden at just her second start, the filly headed to Adelaide for a pair of races with her best result being a fourth in the Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m) behind Gin Spirit (Spirt Of Boom).

Resuming from a break on Wednesday, the Lloyd Kennewell and Lucy Yeomans trained filly surprisingly started at 20/1 odds in the field of ten behind the Robbie Griffiths’ two-time-winning I Am Immortal filly Saluted who started the short-priced favourite.

Settling in a mid-field position under jockey Jamie Melham, Tiz Worthy started to come off the heels of those ahead of her as the field turned into the straight.

With Saluted settling out after the leader and eventual third placed Shinjina (Snitzel), Melham was starting to balance up her mount as she commenced her run.

Shinjina still had the lead at the 100m mark but Saluted, and in particular Tiz Worthy were both coming home stronger, as the daughter of Hanseatic took the lead and denied the race favourite victory.

Secured from Book 2 of the Yulong draft at the Magic Millions yearling sale for just $38,000 by her trainers, Group 1 Bloodstock (FBAA) and Edgar Park, Tiz Worthy was bred by Yulong who had secured her dam Tiz My View carrying the filly for $350,000 from the Inglis Broodmare Sale.

Tiz Worthy is the fourth winner from five foals to race from Tiz My View, a metro winning Snitzel daughter of US stakes-winner Miss Tizzy (USA).

Tiz My View has foaled successive colts by Written Tycoon and is due to foal to Pierata.

Street Boss' Group-Winning Son Hanseatic Will Stand For $16,500 (inc. GST)

The sire of stakes performers Befuddle, Bermondsey and Rohesia from his first crop runners, the Group 3-winning, Group 1 placed Hanseatic (Street Boss) will cover his fifth book of mares at Rosemont Stud in the spring, standing at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST).
