Sebring Sun is one of those stallions budget conscious breeders will consider closely this spring with nearly 70% winners to runners making people sit up and take notice and one of those winners is Hot Bandit, who won the $70,000 Narrandera Showcase Cup on Sunday.
A 1600m feature that earns the winner eligibility for the $3million Big Dance in November, Hot Bandit has been making good progress through the Benchmark provincial races and his trainer Luke Pepper decided to have a throw at the stumps.
With a light weight and a good gate, Hot Bandit enjoyed a cruisy run back in the field and when angled wide to make his run turning for home he gave everything he had for Rebecca Bronett-Prag to win by a neck.
Retained to race by his breeder, Hot Bandit has the overall record of six wins and seven placings from 21 starts with prizemoney topping $160,000.
Hot Bandit is one of 23 winners this season for Sebring Sun, read more about him here.
With burgeoning racetrack results and high fertility, Sebring Sun stands at Glenthorne Park Thoroughbreds and was priced at $6,600 last year and remains at that fee in 2025.
