Hot Bandit Living the Big Dance Dream

Tara Madgwick - Sunday July 13

Sebring Sun is one of those stallions budget conscious breeders will consider closely this spring with nearly 70% winners to runners making people sit up and take notice and one of those winners is Hot Bandit, who won the $70,000 Narrandera Showcase Cup on Sunday.

A 1600m feature that earns the winner eligibility  for the $3million Big Dance in November, Hot Bandit has been making good progress through the Benchmark provincial races and his trainer Luke Pepper decided to have a throw at the stumps.

With a light weight and a good gate, Hot Bandit enjoyed a cruisy run back in the field and when angled wide to make his run turning for home he gave everything he had for Rebecca Bronett-Prag to win by a neck.

Retained to race by his breeder, Hot Bandit has the overall record of six wins and seven placings from 21 starts with prizemoney topping $160,000.
