Third Winner for Peltzer

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 4

Twin Hills Stud’s young sire Peltzer added a third winner to his tally with a debut victory at Canberra on Friday for the well named gelding I Show Speed.

Trained by Todd Smart and ridden by Jean Van Overmeire, I Show Speed drew barrier one and used it to advantage racing forward to hold the fence and he gave a good kick turning for home to beat his older rivals by a length and a half in the 1080m maiden.

Retained to race by his breeder, I Show Speed is the second foal and first winner from Oaks, a half-sister by Bel Esprit to Group II placed Miss Inbetween from the family of dual Group I winning $4.5million earner Zipping.

Oaks has a yearling filly to follow also by Peltzer, who has the favourite in the Listed VRC Taj Rossi Series final at Flemington on Saturday in Buccleuch, who is featured in this Breeding to Win story.

A Group II winning son of So You Think Peltzer stands at a fee of $11,000.
