Winning Hat Trick for So You Think Filly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 2

So You Think has ticked over $12million in seasonal earnings with 150 plus winners including seven stakes-winners and while Covert Thinking is not among the luminaries by her sire, this tenacious 3YO has won three on the trot and landed her first metro victory on Wednesday.

Trained by Ciaron Maher, Covert Thinking has ben a work in progress this year kicking off with an unplaced debut in April, but in every start since then she has taken a step forward.

A second at Newcastle was followed by back to back wins at Gosford and today she had a crack at a metro Benchmark race at Warwick Farm with a heavy 10 track not making things easy.

She scored by a head for apprentice William Stanley, who has ridden the filly in all of her wins.

Retained to race by her breeders, Covert Thinking has won three of five starts earning herself some lucrative BOBS money and has banked over $100,000 for her owners.

Covert Thinking is a half-sister to $1million earner Iknowastar, who won the $1million ATC Five Diamonds Prelude and is the fifth winner from six foals to race from terrific producer Hidden Message (NZ).

She was onsold through Inglis Digital in March 2022 for $22,500 and for her new owners Real Time Investments SA she has produced a yearling colt and weanling filly by So You Think’s promising sire son Peltzer.

Hidden Message was covered last spring by Iknowastar's sire Star Witness.
