Starlust Retired - Riverstone Lodge Next Stop

Zoustar’s brilliant Group I winning son Starlust (GB) has been retired following his excellent close up fourth in the Group I King Charles Stakes (5f) at Royal Ascot last month.

The Ralph Beckett trained stallion was originally going to have one more swansong run in the Group I July Cup, but that plan has now been shelved with the decision to get Starlust ready for his trip to Australia where he will take up stud duties at Riverstone Lodge  in NSW.

"Starlust was a joy to train all his days. I managed to get him beaten in two nurseries before going on the run he did. He was particularly effective on a flat track and around a bend and we wish his connections well with him in his new career as a stallion,” said Ralph Beckett.

Starlust retires with six wins and six placings from a 21 start career highlighted by his Group I Breeder’s Cup Sprint victory and two more Group I placings as well as a couple of Group and Listed wins.

A half-brother to stakes-winner Queen of Desire f rom Group III winning Invincible Spirit mare Beyond Desire, Starlust is the complete package - good looks, pedigree and G1 performance.

Starlust stands at a fee of $27,500.
