Yulong Purchase Another Oaks winner for $1.45million

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 28

Yulong are in the process of collecting paddocks full of Classic winners at their Victorian headquarters and added another at the Magic Millions National Sale on Wednesday when securing Lonhro’s VRC Oaks winner Aristia for $1.45million.

Aristia sold for $1.45million to Yulong.

Consigned by Vinery Stud on behalf of her owner breeder Greg Perry, Aristia is a half-sister to Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate winner Marabi and was offered in foal to I Am Invincible, who is the sire of Marabi.

She has already produced two foals, a two year-old colt called Staristia, by Zoustar, that sold for $725,000 as a yearling and a filly by Maurice (Jpn) that made $450,000 at Inglis Easter this year.

“Once we saw her, we knew we loved her,” said Jun Zhang of Yulong.

“Lonhro is a very good broodmare sire and she is perfectly suited for Alabama Express.”

Marabi was also sold by Greg Perry last year in the Magic Millions Virtual Sale in August.

She was offered in foal to Zoustar and bought by Arrowfield Stud for $2.4 million with a colt foal the result of the mating.
