G1 Winner and Dam Sold for $1.5million and $900,000

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 28

It’s not often that you have a Group I winning filly offered at a sale and the very next day her mother is also presented for sale, but that is exactly what happened at the Gold Coast on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Magic Millions National Sale.

OTI Racing parted company with Group I SAJC South Australian Derby winner Femminile, who was offered in the Newgate Consignment on Tuesday and bought by Yulong for $1.5million.

Yulong have an insatiable appetite for Classic winning fillies and the daughter of Dundeel very much fits their profile. She could well be a two time classic winner after Saturday as she is an acceptor for the Group I Queensland Derby (2400m) at Eagle with Blake Shinn to ride.

Femme Fireball sold on Wednesday for $900,000.

Her dam Femme Fireball is a stakes-placed daughter of Pierro and Femminile is her first foal to race, so she was always going to present as an attractive package with a positive test to Australian Horse of the Year Anamoe.
