Blue Gum Farm Announce 2025 Fees

Media Release - Tuesday May 27

Leading Victorian stud, Blue Gum Farm, is pleased to announce its 2025 stallion roster and service fees, headlined by exciting young sire Sejardan, who will stand at an unchanged fee of $13,750.

Sejardan stands at $13,750.

On the back of an exceptional first and second season at stud where he covered more mares than any other first season sire in Victoria, Sejardan continues to capture the attention of astute breeders across the country with significant support from shareholders such as Trilogy Racing, Widden, Newgate, Bowness, Caithness, Hillside Downs and Watershed Farm to name a few. Sejardan’s foals are already turning heads: strong, scopey and beautifully balanced with big, powerful hindquarters and excellent temperaments. Sejardan’s first crop of weanlings have been extremely well received in the sales ring where they have averaged $64,900 from 10 sold with his top lot, a stunning colt out of Statuette realising $130,000 at the Magic Millions Weanling Sale this week to the bid of Kestrel Thoroughbreds’ Bruce Slade. Other supporters include Riverstone Lodge, Belmont Bloodstock and Bevan Smith Bloodstock.

Sejardan was electric as an undefeated pre-Christmas 2YO, taking out the Group 3 Breeders Plate on debut, the $1 million Golden Gift at his second start, and the Group 2 Todman Stakes in the Autumn. By Sebring, a stallion synonymous with elite performance through the likes of Fangirl, Criterion, Nettoyer and Dissident, Sejardan brings a rich pedigree of speed, type and success.

“Sejardan is doing everything right,” said Blue Gum Farm Co-owner & Principal, Sean Dingwall. “The consistency and quality of his foals is exactly what we want to see, and this has been evident in the sales results of his first crop of weanlings. He’s a stallion with a bright future and a gentleman in the breeding barn with excellent fertility, significantly upgrading mares and representing tremendous value at this price point.”

Backing up that belief, Sejardan will once again receive strong support with a large number of mares from the Trilogy Racing Team and his investor group who are thrilled with the quality their mares have produced using him. Their continued investment and confidence in the stallion will only strengthen his momentum heading into the 2025 season.

Flying Artie stands at $11,000.

Also on the roster, Flying Artie, winner of the Group 1 Coolmore and with progeny earnings over $20 million, will stand at a reduced fee of $11,000 (including GST). A Group 1 winning son of Artie Schiller, he is the sire of global sprint stars Artorius, winner of the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes & Group 1 Canterbury Stakes, and Asfoora the recent winner of the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot not to mention the 2025 Hong Kong Classic Mile winner My Wish.

Oxley Road stands at $6,600.

Finally, Oxley Road, the Group 2 and Group 3 winning sprinter by Exceed And Excel will stand at $6,600 (including GST) with excitement building for the arrival of his first foals this year. Trained by Peter Moody and a full brother to Exceedance, Oxley Road was described as “as fast a colt as I’ve trained” by Moody. With a strong first book and early breeder support, he’s shaping as one of Victoria’s most exciting young stallions.

With a select curated roster of potent stallions combining colonial speed, performance, type, pedigree and commercial appeal, Blue Gum Farm remains a leading destination for breeders in 2025 with trade flexibility for loyal return clients and multiple bookings.

Syncing ideally with the rapidly approaching season, Blue Gum Farm has also announced that Phil Marshall is joining the team as Nominations & Sales Manager.

With years of experience in the international and domestic markets, English-born Marshall has spent the last two decades at Eliza Park, then Sun Stud and most recently, Widden Stud Victoria, working with a vast array of stallion talent and is highly respected by both buyers and breeders.

“Joining Blue Gum Farm is a tremendous opportunity,” Marshall enthused. “Blue Gum Farm has an incredible history here in Victoria and is indeed renowned both locally and globally for the quality that comes off the property.
