Tom Magnier Swoops on $1.35million I Am Invincible Mare

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 27

Tom Magnier purchased a pair of high profile Group winning I am Invincible mares at the recent Inglis Chairman’s Sale in Tiz Invincible and Estriella for $2.8million apiece and snapped up a third quality mare by the reigning champion sire at the Magic Millions National Sale on Tuesday when paying $1.35 million for Moesha.

Moesha sold for $1.35million to Tom Magnier.

Group placed, but not a stakes-winner, Moesha was offered by Widden Stud and is the first seven figure mare of this year’s sale.

She comes with a big pedigree as a half-sister to nine winners including Group winners Argentia and Thewizardofoz being from Champion NZ 3YO Filly Princess Coup.

A $650,000 Inglis Easter purchase as a yearling from Evergreen Stud Farm for Rosemont Stud / David Redvers Bloodstock, Moesha was trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman starting 13 times for one win and five placings.

She’s been a super investment for her owners and is sure to have some beautiful babies at Coolmore going forward.

“We’ve got the luxury of the quality of Wootton Bassett in our backyard so we bid on these commercial mares with a bit more confidence," said Tom Magnier.

“She’s a group performed daughter of I Am Invincible out of a champion in Princess Coup, there’s a lot happening in the family. It is a very active family.

“So she’ll head to Wootton Bassett with a great group of partners involved in her and we feel like she’s an ideal mare to go to him and produce commercial offspring.”
