Divine Profits

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 13
Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet received a warm welcome at Aquis in the Hunter Valley last spring when covering his first book of 170 mares and two of those mares were sold at the Inglis Chairman's Sale last night selling for $200,000 and $170,000.

Rothwell Park offered well related young Bernardini (UAS) mare Vernal in foal to Divine Prophet and she was snapped up by New Zealand based Koru Thoroughbreds for $200,000.

Divine Prophet was the third busiest first season sire in 2017A half-sister to Group I winner and $2.5 million earner Hauraki as well as Group I winner Kidnapped, Group II winner Academus and stakes-winner Deledio, Vernal is a top class mare that is sure to help give Divine Prophet a flying start at stud.

Also offered by Rothwell Park was young stakes-winner Tick Tick Bloom, who was offered in foal to Divine Prophet in her first season at stud and purchased by top judge Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock for $170,000.

By proven sire of sires Choisir from a daughter of champion sire Encosta de Lago, Divine Prophet impressed broodmare owners last spring with his impeccable conformation, attractive pedigree and undisputed Group I ability.

His book of 170 mares included many stakes horses and dams of stakes horses including Gilgai Farm's celebrated producer Mine Game, the dam of triple Group I winner and $4.8 million earner Jameka.

Standing at the affordable fee of $22,000, Divine Prophet was the third busiest first season sire in Australia last spring behind only Capitalist and Flying Artie, offering a clear indication of the high regard in which he is held.

A further six mares covered by Divine Prophet will be offered at the Inglis Broodmare Sale next week. Click here to see them.
