A Danehill free son of champion sire More Than Ready (USA), there is no guesswork with Better Than Ready, who has done a great job from the day his first runners hit the track and he continues to do a great job.

“He’s on track to be crowned Champion Queensland Sire for the third year in a row as he’s about $1million up on his perennial rival Spirit of Boom and in addition to Port Lockroy, he also had another big feature race winner on Magic Millions day in Hidden Wealth,” said Jeff Kruger.

“He’s now had four winners on Magic Millions day with Hidden Wealth joining Alpine Edge and The Odyssey as well as brilliant filly Skirt the Law, who won the 2YO Classic.”

I Am Invincible’s good looking son Barbaric is the associate sire for Better Than Ready and he has had a slight reduction coming back to $6,600.

Barbaric is moving into his fourth season at stud and will have his first two year-olds running in the spring with his pedigree profile suggesting early winners are likely.

“His first yearlings sold for up to $90,000 and he’s by the reigning champion sire in I Am Invincible out of Mimi Lebrock, who won a Magic Millions 2YO Classic and then trained on to become an elite older mare,” Kruger added.

Barbaric stands for $6,600, click for more info.

An outstanding gamble for the budget conscious breeder, Barbaric has thrown some lovely types and is bay dominant like his famous sire.
