Capitalist has been racking up the juvenile winners this season and added another to the tally at Hawkesbury on Thursday when the Nathan Doyle trained colt Hidden Motive won as he pleased.
Ridden by Ash Morgan, Hidden Motive was a hot favourite for the 11100m scamper after two good placings last month following on from his debut fourth to ill-fated King Kirk in the Group III ATC Breeders’ Plate back in the spring.
Hidden Motive stalked the leader before taking over with 250m to run and powered away to win by nearly four lengths in a dominant display.
A $120,000 Magic Millions purchase from Cressfield for Doyle Racing/Kurrinda Bloodstock, Hidden Motive is the third winner from four foals to race from Group I SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes winner Secret Agenda, who sadly died last year and her final foal is a filly by Zoustar.
Hidden Motive is the 11th two year-old winner this season for Capitalist, 10 in Australia headed by Group III winner Memo, plus the New Zealand stakes-winner To Cap It All.
Fresh from siring a new Group I winner last Saturday in Reserve Bank, Capitalist is going to make plenty of appeal this spring priced at $44,000.
