Yulong have an insatiable appetite for classic winning fillies and they snapped up Group I SAJC South Australian Derby winner Coco Sun at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $1.2million.
Purchasing as Z Zhijun, HEBEI PROVINCE CHINA, they added her to their growing haul from this sale and provided a great result for Sledmere Stud, who offered the mare on behalf of her owner Terry Jarvis.
Coco Sun was bought for $250,000 as a yearling at Inglis Classic by McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Tyreel Stud draft and was trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy.
She is one of three Group I winners for The Autumn Sun and comes with a big Black Type European pedigree that has had good success in Australia to produce a number of stakes-winners.
