Thoroughbreds Are Go Returns This Monday

Media Release - Sunday April 27

Monday night on Sky Thoroughbred Central sees the return of Australia’s only thoroughbred rehoming TV program, Thoroughbreds Are Go, featuring stories aimed at finding the best homes for our thoroughbreds away from the race track.

Gary Portelli judged at Sydney Royal this year - image supplied

In episode 1, Caroline Searcy catches up with leading Sydney trainer Gary Portelli and his partner Renae Dorney, both experienced in the show horse world and with a love of the thoroughbred. Gary was judging thoroughbred classes at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show and both have strong thoughts on adapting ex-racehorses to successful outcomes in the show ring.

TAG returns to Queensland’s “Life With Horses” as the dynamic Kat Creech welcomes aged care residents to meet her therapy ex-racehorses.  A new segment, Thoroughbred Breeders’ Australia’s “Look Who We Found,” discovers a much loved very slow racehorse whose important job is to safeguard dual Group 1 winning mare Stefi Magnetica.

Series One also hears from Sky Racing’s own Bernie Cooper and Magic Millions’ Katie Page at the MM Gold Coast Show Jumping event earlier in the year.
