Denman to Retire to Birthplace

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 23

A dashing dark brown son of Lonhro that won the 2009 Group I ATC Golden Rose for Godolphin, Denman has been standing at Twin Hills Stud in recent years, but the time has come for retirement and he’s headed back to where he was born.

Denman has been retired for stud duties.

“Denman has been a lovely horse to stand at Twin Hills, since he arrived here in 2019,” said Olly Tait in a Tweet earlier today.

“Godolphin have been great partners in the horse since then and it is fitting that he will return to live in retirement where he was born, at Woodlands at Denman.”

Foaled in 2006, Denman carries the old Woodlands Stud brand having been bred by the Ingham family and sold into the ownership of Godolphin when they bought the entire bloodstock portfolio in 2008.

He has sired the winners of nearly $60million in prizemoney with 18 stakes-winners to his credit headed by Champion Hong Kong Sprinter Hot King Prawn and also slick Group III winning sprinting mare Humma Humma, whose yearling colt by Snitzel sold for $2.8million at Magic Millions this year.
