Rosemont Bred 2YOs Impress

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 23

Rosemont Stud have produced some nice two year-olds this year including Group winner Palm Angel, who they retained to race and Vinrock, who was sold and won the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes, and the juvenile maiden at Newcastle on Wednesday was won by another of their graduates.

Trained by Peter Snowden and ridden by Tom Sherry, Exceed and Excel colt Impact Zone improved on his debut second at Hawkesbury earlier this month to score an easy win in the 900m maiden.

“He shows good natural gate speed. We saw that the other day and I daresay once he finds a bum to follow, he'll be even better,” said stable representative Aaron Lau.

“He's got good ability. We've always seen that from what he's done at home and in the trials, but he’s a big gross colt, so it's taken a few runs for him to come to hand, but he's done a good job today and he's on that upward spiral.”

Impact Zone was a $575,000 Magic millions purchase from Rosemont Stud.

A $575,000 Magic Millions purchase from Rosemont Stud for China Horse Club/Newgate/Go Bloodstock/Trilogy, Impact Zone is the first living foal of Group II winner Gift of Power (NZ), who comes from the Diamond Lover branch of the famed Eight Carat (GB) family.

Gift of Power has an I Am Invincible filly that was withdrawn from Inglis Premier and after slipping to Anamoe appears to be back in foal to him now.
