General Manager at Gilgai Farm is Kelly Skillecorn and he plays a big part in the success of one of Victoria’s leading nurseries owned by Rick Jamieson, whose passion for horse breeding centres on pedigree.

The last leg of the Sydney 2YO Triple Crown last week was won by the Gilgai Farm bred and sold colt Nepotism, who became the first G1 winner for his sire Brutal and the latest G1 winner for the stellar Helsinge family.

The Helsinge family has become synonymous with Gilgai Farm and has produced champions Black Caviar, All Too Hard and Ole Kirk with Kelly Skillecorn playing a part in that success.

“Rick always says, ‘you feed ‘em and I’ll breed ‘em’,” said Skillecorn, who covers plenty of ground in a wide-ranging chat on all things Gilgai!

Gilgai Farm had 100% clearance at Inglis Premier and Inglis Easter this year selling highlight colts by Toronado (IRE) from Hardly Surprising for $1million and by Extreme Choice from Ocean Jewel for $1.15million.
