Vinery Stud has announced its 2025 stallion roster, featuring an outstanding line-up of proven sires and rising stars, headlined by the exceptional Ole Kirk, who will stand at an increased service fee of $99,000 inc. GST following a sensational debut at stud.
Ole Kirk
With 10 first-crop 2YO winners and three Stakes winners from just 17 starters, Ole Kirk is enjoying one of the most remarkable starts to a stud career in recent memory. His progeny includes Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner O’ Ole, Group 3 Breeders’ Plate winner King Kirk and Listed Moonee Valley Pearl winner, Prestige Forever.
Ole Kirk currently leads the First Season Sires' Table in earnings, winners, wins, and Stakes wins, sitting second on the 2YO Sires' table only to Champion sire Snitzel by earnings and individual 2YO winners.
Exceedance
Following a full book of?181 mares in 2024, Exceedance remains at $33,000 inc. GST in 2025. His first crop has already produced four Stakes winners, including the Listed-winning, Group 1-placed Swiftfalcon and the progressive filly Dance To The Boom. Exceedance’s yearlings continue to be well-received in the sales ring, selling for up to $320,000 in 2025.
Hawaii Five Oh
Standing in his second season at an unchanged fee of $16,500 inc. GST, the incredibly popular Hawaii Five Oh covered a full book in 2024, and Vinery is eagerly anticipating the first foals of the striking son of Champion Sire I Am Invincible this spring.
All Too Hard
The ever-consistent All Too Hard continues to deliver top-tier results and will stand at the reduced fee of $27,500 inc. GST. Set for his sixth Top 10 Sires finish in the past seven years, he remains one of the best value, proven sires under $50k. Stefi Magnetica’s victory in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile announced her as a genuine topliner and now a multiple Group 1 winner - a trait shared by each of All Too Hard’s five Group 1 winners. A totally underrated stallion at stud, his consistency also continues in the sales ring, with his 2025 yearlings selling up to $350,000.
Star Turn
Standing at a reduced fee of $16,500 inc. GST, Star Turn offers breeders sensational value after a standout sales season. His 2025 yearlings sold up to $350,000, averaging six times his service fee. Internationally, he continues to shine in Hong Kong with nine winners from only 13 runners. His fillies are also leaving their mark, led by $1.1 million-earner Alsephina and this season’s Stakes winner Prairie Flower.
Headwater
At just $6,600 inc. GST, Headwater offers unbeatable value for a breed-to-race option. He’s currently on track for his best season yet with 74 individual winners, including multiple Stakes winner London’s Image. With?18 individual Stakes horses and million-dollar earners such as Jamaea, Wisdom Of Water and Straight Acer, Headwater continues to deliver.
Vinery's General Manager Peter Orton says, "Ole Kirk due to demand has gone up in fee, he looks to be exceptional. His first crop progeny have won three Stakes races including the Magic Millions and he sits comfortably leading the first season sires lists. He has a perfect pedigree and offers a complete outcross for breeders throughout the heavy presence of Danehill in most pedigrees."
"The way Ole Kirk raced, we are looking to his late 2YOs and Spring 3YOs to dominate, what he has done to date is a bonus and I think the best is yet to come.
Orton adds, "All other stallions will remain at the same fee or lower and we wait with great anticipation for the first foals to arrive by Hawaii Five Oh, a stallion we have great faith in and one who has been well supported in his first year at stud."
After 17 seasons at stud, highlighted by 21 Stakes winners, two Group 1 winners and over $66 million in earnings, Casino Prince will be retired from stud duties in 2025. He will now live out his days with fellow retiree Testa Rossa in the Vinery paddocks, where he has a home for life.
