Arrowfield Announce 2025 Fees

In the wake of his third Golden Slipper winner and his career-best yearling sale results, multiple Champion Sire Snitzel heads the 2025 Arrowfield stallion roster at an unchanged fee of $247,500, while Castelvecchio has earned a deserved fee increase.

The highlights of his outstanding 2024/25 season include 16 stakeswinners headed by Group 1 winners Lady Shenandoah, Marhoona, Return To Conquer & Switzerland, total yearling sales of $45.2 million and 11 seven-figure yearlings.

Fees for Group 1 sires Dundeel ($88,000), The Autumn Sun ($66,000) & Maurice ($55,000), and Hitotsu’s third season ($22,000) are also unchanged.

Dundeel’s 8 current season stakeswinners, including Saturday’s Group 3-winning filly Cinch, his career tally of 8 Group 1 winners and his status as the sire of Group 1 sires Castelvecchio & Super Seth have fuelled his best-ever Inglis Easter average of $414,000.

His progeny have been well-received in every market this year, achieving top prices of $750,000 at Easter, NZ$450,000 at Karaka 1, $440,000 at Inglis Classic and $400,000 at Magic Millions.

Castelvecchio has earned a fee increase as the sire of G1 winners Aeliana and El Castello.

Castelvecchio, sire this season of first-crop Group 1 winners El Castello (Spring Champion Stakes), Aeliana (Australian Derby) and 3 other stakeswinners, will stand at an increased fee of $49,500.

Maurice, sire of newly minted millionaire Matcha Latte, has served his best & largest Australian books in the past four years. The early results of that rise were plain to see at Inglis Easter where he averaged $503,000 for 10 yearlings and posted his first Australian 7-figure yearling, the $1.4 million filly out of Shoals.

The Autumn Sun, fully recovered from the injury that put him out of action in 2024, has added sensational filly Autumn Glow, Listed winner Snow In May, 5 other stakes performers & $1 million Country Championships Final winner Know Thyself to his record in 2024/25.

His sons are also showing up in Hong Kong where he has three winners including the exciting John Size-trained 3YO Sky Jewellery.

The Autumn Sun’s yearling sale results include a $520,000 colt, a $900,000 filly and a $340,000 Inglis Easter average.

Vandeek (GB) is an exciting newcomer - Steve Davies - Racingfotos.com

Vandeek (GB), the unbeaten Champion 2YO son of European sire sensation Havana Grey announced last month for Arrowfield, will stand his first season at a fee of $22,000.

Arrowfield Chairman John Messara says, “Our unrelenting commitment to quality has helped to generate exceptional results for breeders, vendors & owners this season.

“Those results, from only 5 stallions, include 38 stakeswinners, 7 Group 1 winners, more than $50 million prizemoney and an average yearling sale price of $316,000.”

Messara adds, “Our young sires Hitotsu, a history-making three-year-old, and Vandeek, a dual Group 1 winner at two, offer complementary opportunities to breeders and are both sharply priced.”

Admire Mars, sire of two first-crop stakeswinners in Japan, including last weekend’s Oka Sho G1 winner Embroidery, will not shuttle in 2025.
