Trained by the Corstens and Larkin stable, Gable made his debut with a fifth in the Listed MVRC Moonee Valley Pearl last month and found this 1400m maiden an easier assignment.

He finished hard along the inside between runners for Ben Allen to score by the best part of a length.

A $50,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Newhaven Park for Baystone Farm, Gable is the third winner from four to race from metro winning Commands mare Herstory, a daughter of stakes-winner Fuji Dancer.

Herstory has not had a foal since Gable, but was covered last spring by Newhaven Park’s other Group I winning Sabaneel stallion Mo’Unga.

Gable is the second winner for Cool Aza Beel, who has also sired stakes-placed Cobra Club and Cool Archie.
