Extreme Diva Breaks Through

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 11

This time last year Extreme Choice filly Extreme Diva was matching strides with the best two year-old fillies of her generation and it seems amazing it has taken her so long to win a maiden, but the job is done after a tenacious victory at Gosford on Thursday.

Now with John O’Shea and Tom Charlton after being previously trained by Anthony Cummings, Extreme Diva contested the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes, Reisling Stakes and Group III ATC Kindergarten Stakes last year finishing third, fifth and fourth after preceding runs when she was fourth and third to Lady of Camelot and Switzerland.

With Zac Lloyd in the saddle, Extreme Diva ended a frustrating run of placings to win the 1100m maiden by a long head.

Extreme Diva was a $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from Silverdale Farm for DGR Thoroughbreds and runs for an ownership group that includes Think Big Stud in whose colours she runs.

Extreme Diva is the best of three winners from four to race for On a Given Day, a winning Fastnet Rock mare from the family of Group I winners Snitzel, Rediener, Private Eye and Skybird.
