Coolmore Add Caravaggio to the 2018 Roster

Media Release - Friday March 30

Brilliant sprinter Caravaggio (USA) will join Churchill on the stallion roster at Coolmore Australia for the 2018 season.

CaravaggioAn exceptional son of world-class sire Scat Daddy, Caravaggio was an unbeaten Group I winner at two and followed that up with a dominant performance in Europe's premier sprint for three-year-olds, the Group I Commonwealth Cup over 1200m at Royal Ascot.

"Caravaggio was a very mature two-year-old that developed into an awesome sprinter," said Tom Magnier. "He has an excellent pedigree, free from Danehill and all our team see him as the perfect fit for this part of the world. With himself and Churchill joining the roster and American Pharoah returning, we're giving Australian breeders access to three world-class shuttle stallions. It's a very exciting time for the farm."

Described by the Racing Post as 'a horse of immense speed and class' Caravaggio is a son of a stakes winning two-year-old daughter of Holy Bull, himself a Group I winning two-year-old. Caravaggio's sire Scat Daddy has been an extraordinary success, with his leading progeny including Lady Aurelia, Sioux Nation and Mendelssohn, but Caravaggio is regarded as without doubt his most accomplished son.
