Newgate Farm Announce 2025 Fees

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 30

Newgate Farm have announced fees on a 16 strong roster of sires with no newcomers this time around and while flagship sire Extreme Choice has earned an increase to top the roster at $330,000, Capitalist and Russian Revolution have both been significantly reduced.

Currently sailing through another remarkable season of success thanks to siring Group I VRC Melbourne Cup winner Knight’s Choice and Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Devil Night, Extreme Choice has further enhanced his standing as one of the very best sires in the country despite his well-documented fertility issues.

Extreme Choice will have his best ever draft of 13 yearlings to be offered at Inglis Easter next week and while he had 10 sell at this sale last year at an average $551,500, that figure looks set to be eclipsed.

Capitalist has had his fee reduced to $44,000.

Two well proven stallions with no such fertility issues are Capitalist and Russian Revolution, who are both well discounted this spring with Capitalist standing for a third less than last year at $44,000 and Russian Revolution has had his fee halved to $33,000.

Both stallions have some great crops of younger stock coming through bred from higher fees that could serve breeders very well who support them again this spring.

Russian Revolution had 129 foals born last spring off a fee of $88,000 and has over 130 yearlings bred from a fee of $71,500.

Capitalist has an outstanding crop of two year-olds running for him this season conceived from his first year at $99,000 and they include Group III ATC Magic Night Stakes winner Memo, stakes-winner To Cap It All and Group II placed Quietly Arrogant, plus five more winners. He also has 100 plus yearlings and foals in each of his next two crops conceived when he was priced at $99,000 and $77,000, so quality won’t be lacking from these crops either.

Stay Inside will stand at a fee of $66,000.

Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside stood his first two seasons at a fee of $77,000 before dropping to $55,000 last year and has now come back up to $66,000 off the back of some super results at the yearling sales this year where his first crop have sold for up to $1million.

Stay Inside had 34 yearlings sell at Magic Millions for an average $295,147 and is expected to make his mark at Inglis Easter with a dozen yearlings catalogued.
