Dancing Show Family Strikes Again – Aviatress to Target G1

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 29

Progressive Smart Missile mare Aviatress is building an impressive strike rate with six wins from 12 starts and her latest victory came at Morphettville on Saturday when she scored a dominant win in the Listed SAJC Matrice Stakes (1200m).

Trained by Richard and Chantelle Jolly and ridden by Jake Toeroke, Aviatress was having her first run back from a summer spell after a fruitful spring campaign that saw her win in the Group III MRC Northwood Plume Stakes in Melbourne.

Sent out a hot favourite, she powered clear to win with authority and has now won over $360,000 in prizemoney.

With the Adelaide autumn carnival set to unfold in coming weeks, Aviatress will have a myriad of options and the Group I Sangster Stakes and Goodwood Handicap are well on the radar.

Smart Missile is the sire of Aviatress.

The Price Bloodstock homebred was foaled and raised at Twin Hill Stud, which is home to her evergreen sire Smart Missile. She is a full sister to Group III placed Green ‘n’ White and is the best of five winners from as many to race for the talented Bel Esprit mare Twin Star Rocket.

A winner at Newcastle and placed in a further two of her five starts carrying the Gooree Stud silks, Twin Star Rocket is a half-sister to the Listed ATC PJ Bell Handicap winner Ever The Same.

Twin Star Rocket claims hugely influential Dancing Show (USA) as her third dam and the family has been on fire of late with Golden Slipper winner Marhoona and Group I MVRC William Reid Stakes winner Schwarz both tracing back to this most revered of mares.

It’s been a tale of woe of late for Twin Star Rocket as she has not had a live foal since Aviatress, but was covered early last spring by Rich Enuff, so fingers crossed!
