One to Watch – Goulburn

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 11

Just two days after the Joseph / Jones Racing team won the Listed Canberra National Sprint with bargain priced Zoustar gelding Zouatica, they produced another modestly priced yearling by a red hot sire to win at Goulburn on Tuesday.

A three year-old filly by Too Darn Hot (GB), Too Darn Sassy was only eighth when making her debut at Nowra last month, but jumped out of the ground at her second start for Alysha Collett to win the 1200m maiden by three-quarters of a length.

Too Darn Sassy was purchased for just $30,000 from the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale from the Rosari Farm draft by Joseph Jones Racing and has a big group of owners that will be well rewarded when her racing days are done.

Too Darn Sassy was a $30,000 MM National Yearling Sale purchase.

Not only is Too Darn Sassy a winner now, she is also a half-sister to ill-fated Group III ATC Breeders Plate winner King Kirk and they are the first two foals to race from Oxford Angel, a winning half-sister by Nicconi to Oxford Poet from the family of Group I placed stakes-winner Ladys Angel.

Oxford Angel produced another colt by King Kirk’s sire Ole Kirk last spring and is back in foal to him again, so there is the potential for more to come on the pedigree for Too Darn Sassy whatever her future holds on the racetrack.
