Three year-old filly Carolina Breeze was unwanted by punters going out at 40-1, but made a lie of the lack of support when surging home to win the 1000m maiden by half a length.

A $160,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Segenhoe Stud for McKeever Bloodstock / D Sutton, Carolina Breeze is a half-sister to stakes-placed So Serene being the fifth winner from five to race from Group III winner Radharcnafarraige (IRE).
