Early Premier Stars for Newgate Young Gun Sires

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 2

Setting the early pace among the first season sires with progeny selling at Inglis Premier on Sunday are Newgate young guns Wild Ruler and Stay Inside with fillies by the dynamic duo selling for $350,000 and $340,000.

$350,000 Wild Ruler filly from Cappadocia.

China Horse Club were in the ownership of Wild Ruler as a racehorse and they have supported him at stud selling an outstanding filly from Cappadocia in their draft The Chase draft for $350,000 to Rising Sun Syndicate / Healthy Wood Co.

The filly is a three-quarter sister to Group I ATC Randwick Guineas winner Communist (by Sntizel stallion Russian Revolution) and is the fifth foal from stakes-placed Northern Meteor mare Cappadocia, a half-sister to Group I winner Zip Zip Array from the family of Group I winners Niconero and Nicconi.

Cappadocia produced a colt by Russian Revolution last spring and was then covered by I Am Invincible.

$340,000 Stay Inside filly from Backflash (USA)

Not to be outdone, Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside hit the mark with the Newhaven Park consigned filly from Backflash (USA) selling for $340,000 to Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds.

She is the third foal of a stakes-placed half-sister by Medaglia D’Oro to US stakes-winner Dimatic.

Backflash was back at Newgate last spring to visit another first season sire in Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Ozzmosis.
