Hinchinbrook Stakes-Winner for Weir

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 17
Former star WA filly Whispering Brook had her first start for new trainer Darren Weir in the Listed MVRC Abell Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night and the daughter of Hinchinbrook scored a resounding victory.

HinchinbrookShe raced up on the pace for Dean Yendall and powered away to beat Redoute's Choice stallion Glenall by more than three lengths in the 1200 metre sprint.

A $45,000 Magic Millions National Weanling purchase from the Hillside Thoroughbreds draft for Aquanita Racing, Whispering Brook has won six of 17 starts earning over $800,000 in prizemoney.

A classy mare that won the Group II WATC Karrakatta Plate at two and was placed in the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas at three, Whispering Brook looks set for a great campaign.

Bred by Hillside Thoroughbreds, Whispering Brook is the second winner for Artful Whisper (USA), a half-sister to stakes-winner High Maintenance.

Artful Whisper produced a full brother to Whispering Brook last spring.

Whispering Brook is one of 12 stakes-winners for Hinchinbrook, who has 11 entries for the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

His top class stakes-winning daughter Flippant is a wildcard entry for the Inglis Chairman's Sale and will undoubtedly command serious interest coming from the family of Group I stars Atlantic Jewel and Commanding Jewel.
