One to Watch – Sale

Tara Madgwick - Sunday February 2

It was only a Sale maiden on a Sunday, but when the winner is a half-sister to a Golden Slipper winner by Dundeel and has a half-brother for Inglis Easter we would like to know a little more!

Cinch wins with ease at Sale - image Scott Barbour / Racing Photos

The Lindsay Park team sent three year-old filly Cinch out as a hot favourite for the 1732m maiden after two seconds and a fourth at her only three previous starts and the step up in trip proved to be just what she was looking for.

Cinch coasted home for Daniel Stackhouse to win by two and a half lengths eased down.

Cinch was passed in at Inglis Easter last year by Fairview Park and retained to race by her breeders and is the seventh winner from seven foals to race from remarkable producer Eye for Fun, an unraced Snitzel mare that has given us Golden Slipper winner Mossfun and stakes-winner Mawahibb, who was the Champion Sprinter in Singapore in 2019.

The family has blossomed with Mossfun producing Group III winner Dajraan from a mating to Frankel and another of her daughters is the dam of Group III winner Bodyguard.

Fairview Park will offer the current yearling from Eye for Fun, a colt by Ole Kirk, at Inglis Easter as Lot 368.
