Zoustar Stakes Quinella at Sandown - Half-Sister for Inglis Premier

Another stakes race and another Inglis Digital success story with speedy Zoustar gelding Philosopher scoring an easy victory in the $175,000 Listed MRC WJ Adams Stakes (1000m) over another Zoustar gelding in Midwest.

Third in the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview on this same day in 2022 when carrying the James Harron Bloodstock colours, Philosopher found himself offered on Inglis Digital in September of 2022 when his subsequent form was not up to scratch for an ownership group in search of stallions.

He was snapped up for $18,000 and joined the stable of Enver Jusufovic and has proven to be a great money spinner for his new connections.

Philosopher was fit and hard coming into this Listed assignment and relished the task, charging to the line for Mick Dee to win by two and a half lengths.

"He was helped by a good tempo, and he was very dominant in the end," Dee said. 

"I thought he could put in a performance like that because he had been ultra consistent, and he certainly deserves that win."

Originally an $800,000 Magic Millions purchase for James Harron Bloodstock from Widden Stud, Philosopher has the overall record of six wins and five placings from 23 starts with earnings topping $430,000.

He is the first foal and best of two winners from Lone, an unraced half-sister by Sepoy to stakes-winners Gai’s Choice, Atmospherical and Peron from the family of Group I winning sprinter Eagle Falls.

Lone has a Trapeze Artist filly that will be offered at Inglis Premier by Widden as Lot 280 and produced a filly by Jacquinot last spring.

Philosopher is the 62nd stakes-winner for champion sire Zoustar.
