New Winner For Exceedance - Sister At Classic

Craig Tompson - Wednesday January 22

Vinery Stud’s Exceedance had an impressive new winner on the Kensington Track on Wednesday with the full sister entered for Inglis Classic.

Exceedance

Eccedere was having her fourth start, and second for this new preparation when up to 1400m and after enjoying a good run throughout, sprinted nicely into the straight to maintain an advantage.

Ridden by Zac Lloyd, the Chris Waller trained daughter of Exceedance defeated Pink Shalala (Shalaa) by 1.2 lengths with Hurry Miss (Alabama Express) third.

“It was quite a messy race but she’s done very well,” said Lloyd.

She’s improved a lot from start to start.  She’s quite lean so she’s got a bit of maturing to do physically.

“She began a bit awkwardly but I gave her a squeeze as I wanted to hold that box seat position. And lucky I did because there was a bit of carnage everywhere else and she got a lovely passage through.

“She quickened really well. Definitely a filly on the rise.”

Eccedere was a $250,000 purchase for Magic Bloodstock Racing Syndicate/Lizzie Jelfs from Vinery Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Out of Pussycat Dream (GB), the filly is the fifth winner for the dam including Champion Older Female in Singapore, What’s New, and the third dam is the top ranked Australasian two year-old Good Faith.

Vinery are offering the full sister as Lot 550 at the Inglis Classic Sale in February.
