Fashion Faux Pas Heads Inglis Digital January Lineup

Fashion Faux Pas, a multiple Stakes-winning American mare that has produced a $1.7m yearling this season and carrying a ‘limited edition’ cover to Snitzel, headlines a bumper Inglis Digital January catalogue of 519 lots.

The 9YO mare, who hails from a quality family cultivated by the Hancock Family of Claiborne Farm in Kentucky, is offered by Newgate in foal to the multiple Champion Sire, who is now in the twilight of his extraordinary career.

Fashion Faux Pas is the dam of this $1.7million Snitzel colt.

“This is an opportunity not to be taken for granted by anyone who is serious about breeding elite standard stock in Australasia,” said Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch.

“Snitzel is one of the most accomplished stallions in the recent history of the Australian thoroughbred and access to mares carrying pregnancies to him from the 2024 season is going to be extremely limited.

“She is a good-looking young mare with a proper pedigree that is breeding good-looking stock – she has got a lot of blue sky in front of her.

“The Snitzel offspring of this mare are bred on a similar cross to that which produced Switzerland which is yet another reason to approach an opportunity like this with real confidence,” said Hutch.

Fashion Faux Pas’ second foal, a colt by Snitzel, sold to Coolmore Stud for $1.7m last week on the Gold Coast, whilst her Extreme Choice filly foal is being retained for the 2026 Yearling Sales.

The first Inglis Digital sale of 2025 will see 519 lots offered – 311 racehorses (131 race fillies), 83 broodmares, 81 racehorse shares, 42 yearlings, 1 unbroken stock and 1 stallion.

Several of Australia’s leading stables have large numbers of offerings in the sale such as Ciaron Maher Racing (26), Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott (17), Lindsay Park Racing (15), Durrant Racing (11), Michael Freedman Racing (7), Kavanagh Racing (7), Annabel Neasham Racing (6), Bjorn Baker Racing (6), Jack Bruce Racing (4) and Gollan Racing (4).

In 2024, Inglis Digital graduates won over 4150 individual races – that’s one in five races in Australia – with winners weaning more than $67m in prizemoney for the calendar year.

Recent graduates include $3m Sunlight Plate winner Private Harry, with a 2.5% in the Harry Angel colt snapped up by B2B Thoroughbreds for $25,250 in the Inglis Digital November (Early) Online Sale, as well as dual Devonport Cup winner and $7500 Digital buy Ashy Boy, Highway Plate winner Moritz Girl ($22,500) and South Australian Listed winner Dubai Poet ($70,000).
