$625,000 I Am Invincible Colt Sold by Widden

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 10

Widden Stud’s investment in elite mares has been paying off in the sale ring this week at Magic Millions with an I Am Invincible colt from Nomothaj capturing the attention of one of the big stallion syndicates on Friday morning.

$625,000 I Am Invincible colt from Nomothaj.

The third foal of stakes-winning Snitzel mare Nomothaj was secured by China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/Kia Ora Stud for $625,000.

“He’s a really gorgeous horse out of a fast Exceed And Excel mare and pleased to get him for the syndicate,” said Henry Field.

“We bought him with the normal partners and Kia Ora Stud is involved in him, too. He reminded me of Kings Gambit, that style of a horse where we had a success with a third in the Slipper for our partnership.

“Hopefully he can be as good a racehorse and retire to Newgate when he finishes his career on the race track.

“It was a fair price for him. That was where we thought it would sit and we were happy to pay it.”

Nomothaj was bought by Widden Stud for $1.2million at the 2023 Magic Millions National Sale when in foal to I Am Invincible with this colt the result of the mating.

She produced a Zoustar filly last year and is back in foal again to the champion sire.
