Magic Millions 2025 is about to start, so let’s take a quick look at what happened last year – leading sires, buyers, vendors and Top 10, which includes an unraced colt tipped by many as likely to win this year’s Golden Slipper.

The clearance rate for Book 1 was 88% with 818 yearlings selling for $225,663,000 at an average $275,872 with a median of $200,000.

Frankel was the leading sire by average and has six youngsters this year including the half-brother to Australian dual Group I winner Nettoyer.

Ciaron Maher Bloodstock the leading buyer and in his 24 purchases has one of the favourites for the 2YO Magic Millions Classic in Icarian Dream bought for $300,000.

Newgate Farm the leading vendor by aggregate and sold a runner in the 2YO Magic Millions Classic in Quietly Arrogant, sold for $400,000.

Top 10 includes the $1.6million unraced Wootton Bassett (GB) colt from Fiera Vista that has been named Wodeton and is trained by Chris Waller. He is third favourite for the Golden Slipper behind another pair of Wootton Bassett colts in Pallaton and West of Swindon.
