Magic Millions Nicks Stats

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 6

Affinities between certain stallions is real and if you have a particular nick you like and are keen to find horses bred that way at Magic Millions this report will help you find what you are looking for.

Click here for the full report sorted by sire.

Above is a snapshot of the report sorted by the most successful nicks in terms of producing SW’s and one that catches the eye in a big way is those yearlings by Maurice (Jpn) from daughters of Redoute’s Choice.

Maurice (Jpn) is a shuttle sire with more to offer in Australia.

Maurice shuttles from Japan to Arrowfield and did well from his first three modest sized crops before missing a year and returning in 2021.

The stats so far on his nick with Redoute’s Choice mares reveal 20 winners from 25 starters with five SW’s and two more stakes-placed horses with triple Group I winner Hitotsu the star. That’s 80% winner to runner 20% SW to runner, so it’s a stat well worth noting.

Since his return to Australia in 2021, Maurice has covered books of 156, 165, 149 and 137 mares last spring, so expect to see a lot more runners and winners by Maurice going forward.
